The five nominees for the 2012 CAF African Player of the Year award have been announced recently. Manchester City’s midfielder Yaya Toure, who won the award last year, will try to defend it in the competition of Ivorian compatriot Didier Drogba of Shanghai Shenhua, Senegalese striker Demba Ba of Newcastle United, Ghanaian forward Andre Ayew of Olympique de Marseille and Cameroonian defensive midfielder Alexandre Song of Barcelona. Who is your favourite to win the award?

Definitely Didier Drogba. The trophy of Uefa Champion League has his signature.

I also think that Drogba is the strong favourite to win the award for the third time in his career! His contribution to Chelsea’s triumph in the Champions League was tremendous. Moreover, he even scored in the Champions League final and the FA Cup final in 2012! So, the award should go to Drogba! Sorry, Yaya!
