In order to have some fun, I have recently decided to create two teams – one comprised of very tall players and the other one containing very short footballers. It will be very interesting to see a football match featuring these teams and I am really curious who will win if this game becomes a reality? Will speed and technical skills triumph over height and physical strength? Or will it be just the opposite? It is quite difficult to answer!
While selecting my teams, I was…Continue

UEFA All-Star Game in European football
Dr Pawel Dimow
Sports fans enjoy watching star players in action and the presence of such players in any game guarantees high level of interest. Noticing this fact, the Americans created a concept called “All-Star Game” in the 1930s and are still capitalizing on this idea. The first such game was organized by the Major League Baseball in 1933 and as it…Continue

Presentation of a new UEFA Europa League format
Dr Pawel Dimow
Due to the intensive marketing efforts and introduction of centralized branding, UEFA has managed to build a very positive image of the Europa League and raise the attractiveness of the tournament in recent years. However, there is still a significant gap between it and Europe’s premier club competition – the UEFA Champions…Continue

New method for precise calculation of the club coefficient
Dr Pawel Dimow
As presently constructed, the club coefficient is determined by the results of the club in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League in the five previous seasons, as well as by the coefficient of the club's association which is based on the results of the clubs of the association in the two major…Continue

I have spent some time of my life in Italy. I must share with you some very funny thing about watching matches on tv.
There (as in most of the countries) is one channel that by extra fee enables watching league/champions league.
But.... when I was looking into tv programmes I have seen that there are many other tv channels advertising themselves as the ones which would present match.
When I started 'watching' I realized how that watching looks…Continue

I have heard interesting opinion that there are also many drugs in football (like in cycling) and players taking different medicines and drugs but UEFA/FIFA does not want to implement too many tests not to lose very profitable tv rights to sell each year. It's a lot of money.
Makes sense to me ....
It would mean that cycling association did sth risky (for itself) but very good at the end.

The first part of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign is already behind us and it’s a good time to make some evaluations. Luckily, I am writing this blog post in a great mood as my teams Bulgaria and Poland made promising starts and gave me reasons to believe that they both can make it to Brazil :) Of course, I am always an optimist but this time my optimism is backed up with some serious arguments. My teams remain undefeated and our players show great ambition and fighting spirit. I…Continue

Last year me and my fiancee (current wife) went to Ghana for holiday.
I have noticed very interesting thing looking into children playing football.
In Poland when you start playing football (after school) usually you play on the pitch with big goals and you pay more attention to shooting that passing.
In Africa interesting thing is that when they are playing they have really tiny goals (like for ice hockey) and make a lot of passes instead of kicking from…Continue

I wanted to write this blog post much earlier, just after watching how the ambitious Atlético destroyed the apathetic Chelsea by 4-1 in the match for the European Super Cup in Monaco on 31st August. However, I was always busy with other less or more important things and failed to do so :( Now I have the necessary time, I am sitting in the comfortable armchair on my balcony, enjoying the warm Bulgarian sun, drinking delicious coffee, having a written skype conversation with a nice girl on…Continue

Each week I will write about one of it and would like to exchange news and thoughts about it.
Write to you…Continue

My name is Pawel Dimow and I am a half Polish, half Bulgarian passionate and devoted fan of football – not only the football played by Spain and Germany but also the football played by Andorra and San Marino! I decided to write this comment as I fully support the idea of UEFA to expand the European Championship to 24 teams and I am not very happy with the way you laugh at the national teams of some European countries.
Let me start with some history.…Continue
